About the Artist

I’m an Australian farmer and artist with a hidden disability, Functional Neurological Disorder(FND). A brain disorder that affects how the brain accesses or controls movement and perception. As a self-taught artist, I don’t restrict myself to media and styles but as you’ll see from my work I have a passion for watercolours. I enjoy painting all aspects of life and find myself constantly inspired by our farm and the beauty of the Australian landscape.

How I get my watercolours so vibrant?

It’s called dry brushing and textured paper.

To get the dry brush effect rather than a messy, watery smear:

1. Mix your paint: Take pigment with very little water added so it has a thick, creamy consistency.
2. Remove excess moisture: Load your brush, then dab or wipe the bristles gently on a paper towel or rag to remove excess paint and water.
3. Use the right paper: It works best on cold press or rough watercolour paper; the bristles will only catch the raised peaks of the paper, creating a textured mark.
4. Light pressure: Use a light, quick touch and drag the side of the brush rather than pushing directly down with the tip. 
5. Remember: less is more! You can always add more layers, but you can’t easily remove heavy-handed brushing.

I work with textured/ grained papers. My most used papers are 300gsm canvas paper and a 240gsm medium grain paper. This type of paper and dry brushing gives me a vibrant finish to watercolour.

Digital downloads/prints

For digital downloads, the maximum file size allowable is 3,375 x 4,219 px.

Please note – I do not recreate the same artwork. Only one original painting is available and has been high-resolution scanned for digital purposes.

Did you know you should wear cotton gloves to handle your artwork!

If you have washed your hands and trust yourself only to hold the absolute edges of the print then there is no need for gloves. The watercolour surface is fragile and should be kept free from unnecessary contaminants to keep its utmost archival integrity.

How long does it take before I receive my artwork?

Our order confirmations are automated, so if you did not receive one please check your spam filter first. For digital downloads, you will be able to download immediately. For original paintings, you will also receive a shipping notice as soon as we are ready to ship your prints. Most orders are shipped within a couple of days. If your order has been more than a week without shipping notification please let us know to ensure that there is no unnecessary delay.

How much is shipping?

I have not received my tracking/shipping details

Order confirmation, invoice and tracking details are all sent to you by email. If you don’t receive them you can always have a look in your account where you also will find order history. If you cannot find a shipping confirmation that is due, please send us an email and we can take a look.

When will I receive my art?

Most orders are sent within days and will be with you within a week depending on where you live and what you ordered. If you are in a rush when placing your order please let us know and use the Express Post option for fast delivery.
